Our local wildlife have decided its too cold to live outside and have exchanged rural living for the warmth and comfort of our ladder warehouse. A little wren decided to make a nestAn aluminium ladder covered in bird poop, leant against a white wall on the truss that runs the span of the building. He/she then snuggled down to bask in the warmth of the sodium bulbs.

Despite our noise, threatening language and a bull horn that nearly caused a noise abatement order, he refused to budge. (notice I’m calling him a he now!)

We are not exactly members of the RSPB, but we do admire their work and we can see the appeal of this cute street wise little bird, but it is a menace! Not only do they poop on the ladders, but their nocturnal habits set off the alarms.

Close up of a hand laying a trail of mince pie crumbs on a grey floor. Not to worry though – A trail of crumbs (a stale mince pie) to the roller shutter door finally tempted him outside. Elvis has finally left the building; probably with indigestion!
