Lyte 4 Tread Fibreglass Widestep

The Lyte 4 Tread Fibreglass Widestep is designed for professionals who require additional working height without compromising on stability, comfort or safety. Compared to standard stepladders, this wide-step platform provides a much larger footprint, which improves balance and confidence when working at height. As a result, it is well suited to electricians, maintenance engineers and facilities teams operating in demanding environments.

Manufactured from non-conductive fibreglass, this Widestep allows safe use around electrical hazards. In addition, it is certified to BS EN131:2018 Professional, confirming compliance with the standard required for professional access equipment. This makes it suitable for frequent use across commercial, industrial and site-based applications.

The generously sized working platform measures 600mm deep by 400mm wide, giving users ample space to stand, reposition tools and work comfortably for longer periods. The aluminium anti-slip chequer plate surface enhances grip underfoot, which helps reduce the risk of slips. Furthermore, high 1000mm handrails surround the platform on both sides and the rear. A clip-on chain gate completes the guardrail system, helping to minimise the risk of falls while working on the platform.

Despite its robust construction, the Widestep remains easy to move around site. Two rear wheels allow the unit to be tilted and manoeuvred smoothly between work areas. Once returned to the working position, the wheels lift clear of the ground to ensure maximum stability. The wheels also assist when repositioning the unit while folded flat for transport.
