Lyte 3 Tread Fibreglass Widestep

The Lyte 3 Tread Fibreglass Widestep is designed for professionals who require maximum stability, comfort and safety when working at low heights. Unlike standard stepladders, this wide-step platform offers a significantly larger footprint, which improves balance and confidence during use. As a result, it is particularly well suited to electricians, maintenance teams and facilities engineers working in demanding environments.

Constructed from non-conductive fibreglass, this unit provides a safe solution for use around electrical hazards. In addition, it is certified to BS EN131:2018 Professional, confirming that it meets the rigorous requirements expected of professional access equipment. This makes it suitable for daily trade use across commercial, industrial and site-based applications.

One of the key advantages of the Widestep is its large working platform. Measuring 600mm deep by 400mm wide, it offers ample standing space for tools, movement and prolonged tasks. The aluminium anti-slip chequer plate surface enhances grip underfoot, helping to reduce the risk of slips while working at height. Furthermore, the high 1000mm handrail surrounds the platform on both sides and the rear. A clip-on chain gate completes the guardrail system, which helps to virtually eliminate the risk of falling from the platform.

Despite its robust build, the Widestep remains easy to manoeuvre. Two rear wheels allow the unit to be tilted and moved effortlessly between work areas. Once placed back into position, the wheels lift clear of the ground to ensure full stability. The wheels also assist with repositioning when the unit is folded flat for transport.
