LYTEPOD podium steps comply fully with the latest BS8620 (PAS250) safety standard for podium steps and will be welcomed on all sites as the ultimate safe solution to low level access tasks. This model offers two possible platform heights, 975mm and 1125mm, meaning a maximum working height of 3.2m is achievable when stood at the upper level. The working platform is surrounded on all 4 sides by a 1.0m high guardrail and is accessed through ‘saloon’ type sprung gates, ensuring optimum protection for the user and totally eliminating the possibility of falls while working.

The access steps and platform unit are aluminium, featuring an anti-slip surface and lock securely in place, and the LYTEPOD will pass through a standard doorway (without the stabilizers deployed) without the need to dismantle it. Two 125mm (5in) rear castors swivel through 360 degrees and lock instantly by means of a foot brake to lock the unit in position before use, while the front legs are fitted with Rubber ‘anti-surf’ feet which ensure the unit cannot move without the operator demounting, an important safety feature. The whole unit folds flat in seconds for easy transportation in vans or on a roof rack.
