We’re the first to admit we love ladders! However probably not as much as Adam Malone – One American man who loved his ladder so much he decided to get engaged to it, but not entirely seriously. 29-year-old Adam Malone was despairing at the near constant stream of engagement photos posted by his friends on Facebook, but wasn’t sure how to make a response until a friend found a ladder he thought had been lost forever.
Upon being reunited with his long-lost ladder, Malone enlisted the help of his friend Laura Vander Molen for a photoshoot that saw him posing in typical ‘engagement’ photos, exactly like the ones he’d been bombarded with online. He posted these pictures, including one of him cuddling and kissing the ladder, on Facebook and waited to see what happened.
Luckily, none of his engaged friends took offence to Malone’s light-hearted jape, but he did get some amusing comments on the photos. One friend wrote “this relationship will let you both reach new heights†but the best comment has to be “this is either really sad or really… awesome. I think it’s the ladder.â€
Malone has yet to receive any engagement presents or invitations for himself and his new partner, but he is very happy to have been reunited with his long lost love. He said, “I’ve known the ladder for quite some time… we used to work together in my friend’s painting business and we always had a lot of fun… I just wanted to share this magical thing that the ladder and I had together.â€
