Telescopic ladders are a great option for anyone needing a ladder, but lacking the space to store one. Packing down to around 85cm tall, most telescopic ladders will fit in a car boot, behind a door or under a bed, while still giving you a lot of height plus the versatility to use the correct length ladder every time. Sectional surveyors ladders are another option for the space-poor. Developed for easy transportation and maximum available length, these ladders are built in sections, allowing you to build a straight ladder up to 5.5 metres long. Each section provides 3 feet of ladder length (the actual length of each section is 1.02 metres, allowing for the joining spigot) and they slot together quickly for fast access. The sectional ladder system is available in 3, 4, 5 and 6 section configurations, giving from nine to eighteen feet of height. Each set comes with two end pieces that feature rubber tipped feet. This means the ladder can be used either way up and it will help prevent marking any walls. Each section weighs approximately two kilos, so they are easy to carry section by section if lifting is a problem. These sectional ladders cost between £110 and £192 including VAT and delivery. When choosing these sectional ladders over a telescopic one, you need to think about storage. If space is at a real premium then the longer models will take up significantly more room. If you do have space then the sectional ladders offer a more sturdy feel due to their construction, as well as the versatility to build the right ladder for each job with a taller height range than the telescopic varieties. In terms of price, the telescopic ladders can be bought more cheaply, but when you look at the extra heights available with the sectional system, the slightly higher cost is outweighed by the taller heights achievable.
