The level of innovation coming from Werner is outstanding – not content with making big safety advances in rope operated ladders with their GlideSafe technology, they have recently announced a new multi-position ladder, the Multi-Max Pro.
This all-singing, all-dancing ladder is a serious contender for the title of most versatile height access equipment against Little Giant, who are known for the 24 position ladders. There are two versions of the Multi-Max Pro, one which has 25 configurations and another with 34. These configurations span 5 types of ladder – step ladder, extension ladder, staircase ladder, 90° ladder and double-sided step ladder. When used as a twin-sided stepladder, two people can be on the ladder at the same time, as the load capacity is a whopping 170 kilos. This load capacity means the Multi-Max Pro is ideal for inspection jobs where two pairs of eyes are better than one. For jobs where you need access to lots of tools, or you're unsure of the exact size you'll need; the twin stepladder set up means your assistant can climb up and hand you whatever you need, whenever you need it.
Whoever designed this ladder clearly knows exactly what features are needed for a busy work site, as there are cleverly thought out features all over the Multi-Max Pro. As you'd expect from a professional grade ladder, the base and feet of the Multi-Max Pro are widely spaced to provide stability, and the feet also allow for levelling of up to 7 inches on either side, operated by foot to eliminate unnecessary bending. For sites where the ground is uneven or where paving is set at different levels this feature is fantastic.
The top of the ladder has been designed to function as a tool holder, so you don't need to buy any add-ons for painting, decorating or maintenance jobs. It has also been designed to fit around poles, studs and corners, so you can guarantee that wherever you set this ladder up it will be secure and stable. The top hinge can be operated by one hand, so it's easy to set up and reconfigure by a single person. Rope-assisted operation helps extend the ladder to its full length – it literally could not be easier to use this ladder.
The 90° wall ladder set up is perfect for fiddly jobs and cutting in while painting, as you can get very close to the wall surface without having to stretch and over-reach (which is one of the main causes of ladder falls). With the built in tool holder at the top you'll be surprised at just how much easier some jobs are with this ladder. Staircases are no problem for the versatile Multi-Max Pro, whether that's an indoor staircase or outdoor steps, and the leg levellers mean that this ladder will cope with the most unusual terrain that could send other ladders packing.
If you're a professional builder, carpenter or in any other construction trade this ladder is a great investment; with so many functions you'll be hard pressed to find a job this ladder can't tackle. With the addition of a universal roof hook, you can even use it as a roofing ladder. It's also idea for weekend projects, small builds and DIY not least because it will take up far less space than having all 5 types of ladder to hand. For the domestic user this is a real bonus as space indoors or in the garden can be limited. Move over Little Giant, there's a new multi-position ladder in town.
