Telescopic
work platforms bridge the gap between mobile scaffolding and platform step
ladders, offering a safe and secure method for working at height in a variety
of situations.  Taking up far less space
when packed away than a mobile scaffold tower, and with a fully guard-railed
platform the Zarges ZAP telescopic work platforms offer the ultimate in
versatility, speed for solo working, and safety.

We offer
these platforms in 3 height ranges, 4 to 7 tread, 5 to 9 tread, and 7 to 12
tread.  The smallest model provides
platform heights between 1 and 1.8 metres, while the tallest model takes you
from 1.8 metres to 3.15, which is a whopping working height of 5.15
metres.  The platforms are all 665 x 440
mm and have a guard rail all the way around (one side is a rope clipped on once
you’re on the platform) plus a knee bar at the front of the platform and
toe-boards all the way round to eliminate accidental slipping.  These features combine to create the most
secure and stable platform we’ve seen on this type of ladder.

The Zarges
ZAP telescopic work platforms are ideal for maintenance crews, whether they’re
in-house people or contractors who visit sites as needed.  They’re easy to put up by one person and
because the guard rails and handrails unfold as the ladder is deployed there’s
minimal faffing around, and no chance that these safety features could be
overlooked by anyone, even working alone.
The smallest model packs down to just 2.44 metres long so it will fit
comfortably in the back of a standard Transit van, while the tallest   model takes up a mere 3.28 metres, which is
small considering the huge height this equipment reaches.

These small
stowing sizes are due to the telescoping nature of the design, and all three
models have a width and depth of 0.81 x 0.39 metres when packed down.  They are easy to store in a van but also take
up a tiny amount of vertical space in a tool cupboard or maintenance area in a
warehouse or production facility.  The
telescopic legs allow for these work platforms to be used in a variety of
locations, including on stairs or for jobs where a standard platform step
ladder won’t be close enough to the wall for the task at hand.  In commercial and retail spaces it’s vital to
be able to set up a ladder safely in stairwells – just think of how maintenance
is carried out in art galleries and museums with split levels and light
fittings everywhere.

A Zarges ZAP
telescopic work platform isn’t the lightest thing to move around, with the
models weighing in at 35kg, 38.5kg and 50kg respectively.  They are all fitted with wheels, however,
which make moving them into place and changing position easy for one person to
do.  When balancing the weight of the
equipment against all the safety features (leg stabilisers and all the guard
rails) it’s pretty clear that the extra weight is in these features that will
keep ladder users as safe as can be.
They are all guaranteed for 10 years, and will take a load of 150kg.

When setting
the ladder up, it can be pushed into place with the wheels, then the correct
height is achieved by pushing each side up rung-by-rung until you have the
right height and configuration.  The
stabilisers swing out and are fixed into position, and you’re ready to go.  With such impressive features and a long
guarantee you won’t regret making the investment into a Zarges ZAP telescopic
work platform for your maintenance and estates teams.
