We love the Henchman tripod ladders and we’re proud to carry their excellent ladders through the Midland Ladder brand, so we were delighted to see their first ever TV advert go live.  Created in partnership with Sky, the advert sees a gardener, David, faced with the task of trimming an unruly evergreen hedge.  First he tries an extension ladder leant against the hedge, but it falls sideways.  Then he tries a conventional stepladder, but the four feet can’t get a steady base on the ground and it too falls over.

David takes a break and has a cuppa and a brainwave – he needs the Henchman Pro fully adjustable garden tripod ladder!  With this bit of kit allowing David to set each of the three legs at just the right height for the ground to create a level ladder, and the claw feet getting great purchase on the grass, he makes short work of the hedge.

Henchman garden tripod ladders have been the open secret of the horticultural world for nigh on 30 years and for good reason – the family business is focused on features and quality so each ladder they have created has been full of safety features that make life easier for the domestic or professional gardener.

Their kit is also ideal for orchard maintenance and fruit picking, as well as other jobs around the outside of the home.  Gutter clearing is a doddle with a Henchman if you’ve got flowerbeds under the windows making it otherwise unsafe to use a conventional ladder there.  They’re also perfect for intricate pruning and tying in jobs around pergolas and other growing structures thanks to the uniquely designed deep treads, which allow offcuts to pass through rather than build up on rungs and cause a safety hazard.

Anyone looking for an EN131 certified tripod ladder for the garden will want a Henchman, and they are the only manufacturer to have this type of ladder certified for domestic and professional use.  The brand also offers the Hi-Step range of four legged stepladders which offer stability, adjustability and a large platform at the top.  The platform has a waist-high guard rail and safety chain to the rear, allowing the user to be completely enclosed and protected against falls, while using the high guard rail to pivot and lean around the working area safely.

Henchman have also recently released a Lifting Harness which users can wear like a backpack and use to suspend the front of a power tool, reducing the weight on the arms and making a massive difference to muscle fatigue.  This allows user to work for longer with power tools and get through hedge cutting jobs safely and quickly.  We hope to offer this to our customers very soon.

The Henchman TV advert heralds a new era for the business as they capitalise on their success at the European Product Design Awards, where they won an iF Design Award for the Henchman Pro and harness products.  They’re already the firm favourites of The National Trust, Royal households and domestic users alike and soon they’ll reach even more potential customers.  We are proud to support them and offer their unique ladders to our customers.
