Whether you're getting the ladders out to hang lights outside, using your loft ladder to get the decorations down or relying on a stepladder to string cards up around the room, we urge all our customers to stay safe on ladders this festive season. At a time of year when the health services are always under pressure we all want to stay as far from A&E as possible, and being safe on ladders is an excellent way to keep your distance from hospital. Whatever you're doing to celebrate, having some Christmas music playing to get into the spirit is a must, so we've adapted the underrated Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses along the theme of ladders so you can have a sing along.
Bah Humbug is that too strong?
It's my least favourite holiday
Up ladders all day and when I'm home
I'm back up hanging paper chains
To add to my already mad rush
This season is the reason
The perfect gift for me would be
A ladder stopper for my safety
Or a set of brackets for hanging up
Storing ladders in the best of ways
No more socks I've got enough
Just something I'd find useful please
I'll deck the halls and sort the tree
Go out to put some lights up
Roof ladder out and ready for me
Christmas will be great this year
Before I climb I always check
The catches are locked safely
The angle's right, the light is bright
And I've got jobs aplenty
Flash back to spring time, gutter cleaning
I didn't pay much attention
Foot on the first rung, it slipped sideways
I've surely learned that lesson now
So now I'm stringing Christmas lights
The house looks quite amazing
With a helping hand and sturdy shoes
We'll get this all done, but carefully
Now the inside needs some glitz
We've got the decorations
Down from the loft with a wooden ladder
Maybe this year we'll upgrade it
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
I'm going to be safe this year
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
I'm going to be safe this year
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
I'm going to be safe this year
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
I'm going to be safe this year
Cards arrive and get hung up
The step ladder is a winner
Small storage size with enough height
For all jobs in the interior
No slips, no trips or falls
We're really trying to stay safe
Don't want to break an arm or leg
Last year we were lucky
Not one of us was injured
Can't say the same about our neighbour
He's only just recovered
A small mistake, an oversight
It really doesn't take much
One false move, you're on the ground
With more than just a bruised ego
This year I said I'd help
Can't see him injured once again
With the right ladders we are fine
And some help is always handy
So out with the ladders
Out with the lights
We'll get this done together
I'll climb up and he'll direct
For some festive light-up splendour
Awakening on Christmas Day
And what should be there waiting
Under the tree… a gift for me?
It's something from Midland Ladders
Just what I wanted, I have got
Those fancy ladder brackets
A great excuse for me to spend
All Boxing Day out in the shed
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
I'm going to be safe this year
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
I'm going to be safe this year
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
I'm going to be safe this year
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
I'm going to be safe this year
Repeat ….. twice
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year from everyone at Midland Ladders.
