Imagine a nightclub fitted out with nothing but ladders!  It sounds crazy, but you would actually be able to do it if you explored and re-purposed many different types of access People dancing on the dancefloor of a dark nightclub.equipment.  You would enter via a ladder of course!  Perhaps a cat ladder leading to a rooftop bar or down a ladder of iron bars to an underground club.  Past blog posts have looked at the idea of using a step ladder or extension ladder to hang coats and hats on, so the club cloakroom could give out tickets based on the ladder and rung number your coat is on.

Work platforms and low scaffolds such as multi-purpose scaffold systems could be used as a bar to serve drinks.  Providing a surface 1.5 metres wide by 40cm deep, and at a height of 1 metre, it would act as a perfect table.  Having a maximum load of 150 kilos means a lot of drinks can be set down on that bar!

Plastic safety steps such could make great modular seating and could be rearranged as necessary or stacked away for more dancefloor space.  Low level hop up steps could also be used; the longer ones would make good benches for lining the walls and around tables.

Tables would be made from trestle platforms or combination ladders used in this way.  The Little Giant models would be ideal for both tables and benches, as the optional work platform telescopes from six to nine feet, making extra long seating an option.  Setting the platform at different heights offers multiple configurations.

Dancers could be set on podium steps, as the guard rails offer security on all four sides and the non slip feet or locking castors stop them moving around when they are in position, but with the option of moving them around.  If anyone is mad enough to attempt this, we’d sure like to have a drink in that bar!
